Description
Considered to be closely related to Mugho Pines, the same tough characteristics are true for Mountain Pine. Moderately fast growing evergreen developing into a broad pyramidal tree form. Dark green needles year round.

Care
General Maintenance: Little pruning is required but a yearly shearing of the new candles when soft will keep the plant more compact. Typically in June.

Soil: Prefers fertile, well-drained soils, but highly adaptable; avoid poorly drained, soggy sites.
Fertilizer: Feed in early spring with an all purpose fertilizer prior to the new growth.
